Petri Dishes
Non-vented plates have a flat inner lid surface that rests directly on the bottom dishes. Vented plates have three breather lugs on the inner surface of the lid, which elevate the lid slightly above the bottom dishes. This creates a small gap that allows greater air exchange, resulting in better aeration in the vented plate compared with the non-vented plate.
